Nomotechnia, or, The art of law [manuscript], 1607.

"Description of the common laws of England according to the rules of art ... from Magna Carta to 40 Elizabeth." English translation of Finch's Nomotechnia, cestascavoir un description del common leys d'Angleterre, published in French 1613 (STC 10870). Manuscript is more concise than the English version of 1627, Law, or, A discourse thereof in four books (STC 10871), which "differs in some important respects from the original work," according to the Dictionary of National Biography. Formerly attributed to Augustine Vincent the herald, whose name appears at end of text, leaf 200, and initials on the binding. Date, May 23, 1607, appears on leaf 80.
